Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade asked Department of Industry and Trade of centrally-governed cities, provinces to:
- enhance management on banned chemicals in preserving and processing food, especially sales, import and consumption of industrial alcohol and chemicals;
- pay unscheduled visits to detect violations and impose harsh penalties on violators;
- direct the Market Management Divisions to collaborate with relevant agencies to tighten monitor on import, manufacturing companies and the use of chemicals, alcohol, methanol.
- closely coordinate with media agencies and local authorities at all levels (especially at the district, commune, ward levels) to strengthen the information work and guide businesses and business households to increase their responsibilities in chemical production and trading and raise people’s awareness on the harms of abusing chemicals, additives, processing aids in food preservation and processing.
Departments of Industry and Trade of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City are assigned to actively coordinate with Department of Chemicals, Market Management Department to implement the coordination program between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committees of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City on law enforcement on the management of chemical production and trading.
The Market Management Divisions of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City must strengthen controlling import, manufacturing, business and use of chemicals, alcohol, methanol in the area, especially in key areas, such as Kim Bien Market in Ho Chi Minh City and Hang Hom and Hang Buom Street in Ha Noi.
