Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee and Chairman of the City Council for Military Service Tran Sy Thanh attended the ceremony and encouraged the recruits joining the army. Also attending were Major General Bui Trong Quynh, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Hanoi Capital Command and leaders of Dong Anh district.
At the ceremony, the Secretary of the Dong Anh District Party Committee and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Anh beat the drums and lit the traditional torch to open the great festival of the people and the army in the district.
In 2023, Dong Anh district was assigned to recruit 236 young men for the armed forces, of which 198 recruits perform military service and 38 of police service. Right from the early days of 2023, Dong Anh District and the District Military Service Council have focused on starting the recruitment process.
Chairman of the Dong Anh District People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Linh affirmed that for many years, generations of Dong Anh youth enthusiastically threw themselves into fulfilling their sacred duty to the Fatherland and achieved many glorious feats. Linh stressed the importance of continuously building the People's Armed Forces to be ready to defend the country. The Party and the State have entrusted this noble responsibility to the young generation, he said.
Linh expected new recruits with their own determination and the support of the families and the army, will complete every task.
Sharing his feelings on the day of enlistment, Nguyen Kim Hai from Co Loa commune said that the draftees of Dong Anh district will try their best to study, follow the example of predecessors, and be absolutely loyal to the revolutionary cause of the Party, ready to fight and sacrifice for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
At the same time, he said the new recruits would promote the tradition of the heroic homeland, actively studying and working, strictly observing the laws of the State, the discipline of the army and police. He expected all the young soldiers would stand ready to accept and fulfill all tasks, so that they would be worthy of the trust and love of the family, the Party Committee, the authorities and the people of the district.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh said joining the military service is not only the responsibility but also the honor and pride of youth. He reminded young soldiers to uphold the tradition of the heroic Dong Anh homeland, following in the predecessors’ footsteps and always being absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the people.
In addition, the Chairman of the City People's Committee also wished that the soldiers should actively study, practice, strive to improve their political, military, cultural, scientific, technical and professional skills.
The mayor stressed the necessity for young soldiers to strictly observe the military discipline and regulations of the unit, absolutely obey the orders of the superiors, try to emulate and build a strong and comprehensive unit; exemplary in observing and mobilizing the people to well implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.
