During the meeting, CEO Axel Schweitzer highlighted ALBA Group Asia's extensive experience in waste management and its status as a leading enterprise in this field. Having implemented major projects in countries such as China, Singapore and Thailand, the company expressed its desire to support Vietnam, particularly Hanoi in this regard, based on its accumulated experience.
Schweitzer emphasized that plastic waste is a valuable resource that can be reused, and his company's partner, VietCycle, possesses considerable knowledge and experience in plastic recycling. VietCycle expressed a willingness to contribute to enhancing the living standards of Hanoi's residents and advancing the city's objectives in effective waste management and intelligent urban development.
Schweitzer expressed his hope for support and favorable conditions from the City for potential collaborative initiatives in the capital.
During the meeting, VietCycle's representative shared some insights on waste recycling and urged Hanoi to broaden its policies and mechanisms to enable domestic and foreign partners to assist with garbage sorting, waste treatment, and large-scale project implementation. This approach is aimed at promoting a green, clean, and beautiful city.
In response to the proposed ideas put forth by the leaders of ALBA Group Asia, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh acknowledged that Hanoi, with a population of 10 million people, generates a significant amount of waste, including plastic waste. The city has always been proactive in reviewing waste management plans, taking green and sustainable urban development seriously.
Chairman Thanh welcomed the proposals and assured that the city would facilitate all necessary conditions for related projects. He also pledged to actively support capable partners and investors with the necessary technology and economic potential to invest in this field.
Chairman Thanh endorsed the above suggestions and instructed relevant departments, agencies, and sectors to liaise with ALBA Group Asia and VietCycle to explore potential areas of cooperation.
