The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen, as well as leaders from various departments and agencies. During the meeting, Chairman Tran Sy Thanh expressed his appreciation for the high-quality and significant direct investment capital from Taiwanese businesses, stating that the INVENTEC group's field of work aligns with Hanoi's foreign investment policies and future orientation.
As such, the City will provide all necessary conditions to support the Group's investment activities in Hanoi, including the upcoming Hanoi South Supporting Industrial Park (HANSSIP) project.
The Chairman of INVENTEC Group thanked the city leaders for the warm welcome and highlighted the company's extensive experience in developing equipment and components. The Group operates a series of production and research centers in Taiwan, China and various locations around the world. With the current trend of production restructuring, the Group aims to expand its production activities to other parts of the world, including Vietnam.
According to the INVENTEC Chairman, the Group has identified the Vietnamese market, particularly Hanoi, as a key area for investment, with an immediate focus on a high-tech support project at HANSSIP. He explained that the preparation of the project has been ongoing for several years, and the Group has made its first investment in the city in the Quang Minh Industrial Park in Me Linh from July 2022. INVENTEC executives expressed hope that the city government will support the progress and administrative procedures in the investment and project implementation processes. They also expect the authorities to create favorable conditions for INVENTEC's foreign experts to enter the country, and to add the use of green energy, such as solar batteries, in the Group's factories and production facilities.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, has welcomed foreign investment projects, especially in the high-tech field, and agrees with the suggestions made by INVENTEC's executives. He noted that Hanoi has exceptional facilities and human resources and has already attracted investments from major global companies such as LG and Samsung, which have established research and development centers in the city.
During the meeting, Thanh directed relevant departments, agencies and branches of the city to support the proposals made by INVENTEC. These include speeding up procedures for the group's projects, facilitating the entry of foreign investors and experts to use green energy in production facilities.
INVENTEC's investment in the HANSSIP Industrial Park is expected to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2024, creating between 20,000 and 25,000 permanent jobs. The project will establish a complex comprising research and development, supply chain, production and accessories. It will also support Hanoi and Vietnamese companies to join the global production chain of INVENTEC and its partners. INVENTEC officials have stated that the project will prioritize the use of local materials and focus on training high-quality human resources, especially in the technology sector.
