The functions and tasks of the Association include
- Involving in the socio-political movements and poverty reduction activities;
- Taking part in local movements to protect the Party and the administration;
- Realizing Resolutions of the Party Central Committee and Viet Nam Central Veterans Association;
- Involving in ensuring the national security and social order in city; coordinating with the city ‘s Military Command to mobilize the young people to join the army for the defense of the country;
- Cooperating with Youth Union to educate the young people about the traditional values of the nation
- Taking part in movements against drug and social evils in the city;
- Encouraging young people who have completed their military obligations to join the veteran clubs in the City .
