The capital city has conducted a series of activities to convert tourism into a spearhead economic sector while attaching importance to cultural value and building sports establishments.

In March alone, as many as 360,000 foreigners traveled to Ha Noi, representing a month-on-month surge of 21.8 percent and a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent. The number of domestic visitors was 818,000, representing a month-on-month decline of 6.2 percent.

In the first three months of this year, Ha Noi welcomed over 2.4 million domestic tourists, up 5.6 percent compared to the the same period last year.

Thanks to the high number of visitors, in March, tourism revenue saw a month-on-month rise of 1.1 percent and year-on-year growth of 9.3 percent. The figure was estimated to surge by 7.1 percent against the same period last year in Q1.
