The Hanoi People's Committee, in partnership with the Hanoi Institute for Socio-Economic Development Research and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, will conduct a significant scientific seminar entitled "Promoting cultural value and resources to build a cultural – modern – civilized capital." This event is crucial as it provides the city with numerous solutions and initiatives. It is aligned with the directives and objectives set forth in Resolution 15/NQ-TU of the Politburo, which outlines the directions and tasks for the city's development until 2023, with a vision for 2045, and the formulation of the Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision up to 2050.
Additionally, it follows the Resolution of the Hanoi Party Committee, which focuses on developing the cultural industry in the capital from 2021 to 2025, with a vision to 2030, particularly aiming for a vision to 2045. The seminar will take place on March 21 and aims to achieve three primary goals.
Firstly, it aims to clearly define the cultural characteristics of Hanoi, discuss practical and scientific issues related to cultural, civilized, modern, and scientific aspects in the city's development process, and propose solutions to enhance the city's values and cultural resources to establish it as a civilized – modern – cultural capital.
Secondly, it seeks to prepare scientific arguments on development philosophy and orientation to facilitate the formulation of the Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision up to 2050.
Thirdly, it aims to promote awareness and create unity among all levels, branches, cadres, Party members and people in the capital about the crucial position and role of Hanoi's culture. To date, the seminar has received nearly 70 presentations from various cultural experts, scholars, and managers, focusing on two themes: Hanoi's cultural heritage and development philosophy for building a "civilized - modern - cultural" capital, and solutions and orientations for effectively utilizing and mobilizing cultural resources in this development. Among the presentations, there are noteworthy discussions on preserving and promoting Hanoi's exceptional cultural heritage values and significant cultural areas, initiatives and solutions for restoring and revitalizing the river and lake system landscape, developing traditional handicraft villages, and addressing conservation and development issues in the old city and ancient villages.
Moreover, the conference also includes many sideline activities such as book exhibitions, showcasing photos and documents that highlight the journey of cultural and human development in the Capital, as well as displaying traditional craft villages' quintessence and Hanoi's typical cultural heritage sites such as Temple of Literature and Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, aiming to create a unique feature and raise awareness and responsibility for preserving and promoting cultural values and resources towards developing a civilized – modern – cultural capital. In conclusion, Vice Chairman Ha Minh Hai emphasized the importance of implementing the meeting's contents and preparations in a rigorous and scientific manner to ensure progress and adherence to the proposed plan.
He urged the Hanoi Institute for Socio-Economic Development Research, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and related units to carefully review the tasks and promptly add and correct them to ensure a flawless organization and achieve the proposed quality goals of the workshop. Regarding exhibition activities, Vice Chairman Ha Minh Hai stressed the importance of selecting appropriate materials and artifacts to showcase Hanoi's cultural quintessence. Finally, he requested that a pre-conference information conference on the event be organized with the participation of the organizing committee, invited experts, and scholars.
