Hanoi opens calligraphic festival ahead of Tet (13:25 16/01/2023)


HNP - On January 15 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam held the opening ceremony of the calligraphic festival 2023.  



Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Thi Van Anh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said, "The event is shaping up to be a cultural event that will attract a large number of people from the capital and neighboring provinces/cities."

The calligraphic festival was held after a 2-year pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the theme of respecting educators, the calligraphic festival upholds the nation's tradition of studiousness and "respect for teachers". The event has been carefully prepared in order to create a healthy playground for 50 Han-Nom and Quoc Ngu calligraphers to create and bring to the public beautiful calligraphy with many good wishes.

Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam Le Xuan Kieu expected this year’s festival would become a major event for Vietnamese and international friends during Tet holidays.

In particular, visitors can also attend a calligraphy exhibition consisting of 40 beautiful works under the theme of respecting teachers, encouraging the spirit of learning among the young generations and contributing to gradually improving public’s understanding of calligraphy art.

This year, the calligraphic festival will take place from January 15 to 29.
