Hanoi expects to strengthen cooperation with Laos in all fields (17:56 27/02/2023)


HNP - During their visit to Vietnam, a delegation from the Lao National Assembly, led by Lao Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Khambay Damlath were received by Nguyen Thi Tuyen, member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.  



The reception took place on the morning of February 27 and was aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

On their visit to Vietnam, the Lao National Assembly delegation was warmly received by Nguyen Thi Tuyen, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, who shared with them some notable achievements in Hanoi's socio-economic and political landscape. Hanoi has achieved all 22 of its socio-economic targets for 2022, surpassing the plan in five areas, including state budget revenue, GDP growth, and economic scale.

The city is also committed to building its Party and political system, with a focus on developing Party and mass organizations in non-state enterprises, and is piloting an urban government model.

Tuyen emphasized Hanoi's strong commitment to fostering friendly and cooperative relations with localities in Laos, particularly Vientiane. The two capitals have built a close and comprehensive partnership in various fields, including economy, health, education, agriculture, military, and people-to-people exchange.

Hanoi has been selected numerous times to welcome delegations from the Central Committee of the Lao Party and State, who come to visit and share experiences in party building and socio-economic development. Recently, Hanoi received  a delegation from the Central Theoretical Council of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, as well as a delegation from the Central Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee stressed the importance of the special, selfless and faithful relationship between the Party, the government and people of Hanoi and the People's Revolutionary Party and people of Laos. Hanoi is committed to strengthening and developing this relationship through close coordination, exchange of information and experience, cooperation and mutual support in all fields.

This not only brings practical benefits to both sides but also contributes to the consolidation and development of the special friendship and cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

On behalf of Hanoi's leaders, Tuyen wished Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Khambay Damlath and the delegation a successful working trip in Vietnam.

Upon receiving information from Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Khambay Damlath expressed congratulations on the comprehensive achievements of Hanoi, and shared some outstanding results in Laos' socio-economic development, Party building, and political system. During their visit, the Lao National Assembly delegation worked with three Vietnamese localities, including Hanoi, to exchange and learn about the organization of the National Assembly and the People's Council at the local level, as well as the collection of votes of confidence for elected offices. Vice Chairman Khambay Damlath believed that the results achieved during this working trip will contribute practically to improving the efficiency of local elected bodies and grassroots organizations in Laos.
