Procedure Extension of the transport permit and expiry date of Chinese vehicles in Viet Nam
Process

a) Submission of dossiers


+ Submitting dossiers at the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) of the Ha Noi Department of Transport.


b) Handling of dossiers


The Department of Transport


+ Receiving and checking the dossiers and granting permit to applicant. In case of refusal to grant licenses, the department must reply the applicant in writing.
Where to submit Submitting dossiers directly at OSS of the Ha Noi Department of Transport or No. 16 Cao Ba Quat Street, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi.
Contents and number of the dossier

a) Contents of thedossiers:


- Transport permit (A copy with the original for comparison or certified copy);


- Vehicle registration (A copy with the original for comparison or certified copy);


- Application form for extending the transport permit.


b) Number of the dossier: 01 (one) set
Processing duration Within 01 (one) working day after receiving the complete and valid dossiers.

Outcome Extended transport permit. -For Chinese vehicles having expired transport permits or exceeding the time circulation in Viet Nam and legitimate reasons (natural disasters, accidents, broken, etc), transport permit will be extended 01 (one) time to a period not exceeding 10 (ten) days from the expiry date.

Legal basis

- Circular No. 23/2012/TT-BGTVT dated June 29, 2013 of Minister of Transport on guiding the implementation of the Agreement, the Protocol on road transport between the Governments of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the People’s Republic of China.


- Circular No. 188/2016/TT-BTC dated November 8, 2016 of the Ministry of Finance regulating collection rates and regime for collection, payment, management and use of fees and charges of driving examination; issuance fees of driving license, operation certificate and fees of registration, granting plate of special-use vehicles.
