1. Ta Hien Street, the beer junction
A night out in Ha Noi is not complete without sitting back on plastic stools and enjoy Bia hoi (Vietnamese draft beer) along the bustling streets. Ta Hien is the well-known place where both Hanoians and foreign tourists to gather, drink beer and chat, especially in the hot summer.
The street is a blend of the old and the new, as well as a mix of French Colonial architecture and ancient characteristics. Bia hoi (draught beer) can be founded easily at intersection of Luong Ngoc Quyen, Ta Hien, and Dinh Liet Streets, where a numerous street bars selling the city’s cheapest beer; this is a favorite destination of many backpackers, young expats and local people. After long hours of traveling on a hot summer day, drinking a fresh beer will definitely help you cool down. There are many restaurants and food counters in the street, serving numerous delicious dishes at the very reasonable prices, such as Vietnamese noodle, baguette, snacks, finger food and Western dishes.
Ta Hien is a famous destination for international tourists with lots of super small alleyways, twisted intersections, a lot of bars, beer, and clubs with flocks of people sitting on the sidewalks. You can come here at night, enjoy the great food, crowded and bustling street, make new friends, and talk to strangers in the middle of Ha Noi!

2. Legend Beer
Located on the third floor of a building in downtown, Legend Beer Hanoi is well-known for its open-air terrace that overlooks the bustling streets of Ha Noi Old Quarter and Sword Lake. The bar is only five to ten minutes walking from Hoan Kiem Lake and Dong Xuan Night Market; this is a perfect choice to unwind after a day of exploring Ha Noi.
The Legend Beer brews its own drinks and serves German-style dishes, such as pork knuckles and sausages. People come here mostly for the view; thanks to the low level of the terrace, chaotic streets below seems to be within their touching distance. It opens every day from 11:00 until 23:00 only, but gets very busy from sunset onwards. This is the favorite destination of travellers and photo enthusiasts to snap shots of the busy streets.
3. Bar Betta

Location: 34C Cao Ba Quat, Ba Dinh District
Located in the city center, Bar Betta Hanoi is a small retro-themed establishment within a dilapidated French colonial villa. The main café section is fitted with vinyl records, retro movie-themed memorabilia and mismatched 1970s furnishing; all create a comfortable, laidback ambience which is perfect for relaxation after a day of exploration. Here you can enjoy strong coffee, European fare and a wide range of cocktails and beers until late.
4. Rooftop bars
Visiting a rooftop bar is a good choice to get magnificent views of the city skyline, streets, and sometimes the surrounding rivers and lakes. Best time to head up to the terraces here is from March to October, when the climate is fairest. Some significant rooftop bars are listed below:
- Top of Ha Noi at Lotte Hotel Ha Noi
Top of Ha Noi is located on the 65th floor of the Lotte Hotel at No. 54 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh District. It gives a stunning 360-degree view of the entire city and its surroundings. You can order a variety of signature cocktails from Sky Bar and enjoy the view of Ha Noi from the glass counter installed around, or try classic bistro-style cuisine from the open kitchen Dining Garden, the highest rooftop restaurant in Viet Nam. The terrace can accommodate 165 people at the same time.
- Summit Lounge
Open daily from 4:00pm until midnight, Summit Lounge is considered as the most luxurious rooftop bar of Ha Noi. It is perched on the 20th floor of the prestigious Pan Pacific Hanoi, and offers a spectacular 360º view over the city, lakes and nearby Red River. There are full height windows spanning three sides of the Lounge, which help the guests enjoy the stunning views when sitting on comfortable sofas.

- The Rooftop
The Rooftop is located on the 19th floor of the Pacific Place building at No. 83 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, which is southwest of Hoan Kiem lake. It is a trending nightclub in the capital city that has an impressive rooftop view of major parts of the city. The nightclub is situated indoors and it's a little bit of a quieter and softer atmosphere at the terrace. The decor both inside and out is modern, stylish and luxurious.
