In the annual Top City Destinations Ranking report issued early last month at the World Travel Market event in London, Ha Noi ranked 52nd among the world’s 100 leading cities in terms of international tourist arrivals. In 2017, it welcomed 4.3 million foreign travelers, up 7.5% over 2016.

Based on its annual tourism growth rates in the period 2009-16, Ha Noi’s tourism growth rate in 2017 has been estimated at 16.4 percent, ranking seventh on the list. Ha Noi is highly appreciated as a city of beautiful and romantic landscape, rich cuisine, and various tourist services at a high quality and reasonable prices.
The year 2017 was considered a success for the city’s tourism sector with 5 million foreign vacationers arriving in Ha Noi, up 23 percent against the previous year, surpassing the set target of 15 percent.
The capital city of Ha Noi is striving to welcome 5.5 million foreigners among over 25.4 million tourists in 2018, and gross some 75.78 trillion VND (3.33 billion USD) in revenues, confirming itself as an attractive destination in the region and the world.
The city will focus on developing high-quality products at favourite destinations such as the world heritage site of Thang Long imperial citadel, Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace.
