Ha Noi wraps up the 14th session of the Municipal People’s Council (21:16 5/12/2015)

HNP - The 14th session of the Ha Noi People’s Council (14th tenure) 2011-2016 term wrapped up on December 4. Vice Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Ha Noi Police Nguyen Duc Chung has been elected as Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee.

Addressing the meeting, Politburo member in charge of the Ha Noi’s Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi sai that, over past five years, the role of Municipal People’s Council has been increasingly improving, contributing to make prominent and comprehensive achievements in construction and development of the capital city, notably, building a law-governed State of the people, by the people and for the people.

The municipal People’s Council has worked hard to promote democracy in the Party and society and well performed its role as an organ of power representing local people. In addition, the Municipal People’s Council has had many important decisions, contributing to the overall achievement of the capital city and the country.

For his part, newly-elected Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung sai that he will study and inherit the experiences of predecessors; promote the strength of the political system, the tremendous support of the people in the construction and development of the capital city.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said the 14th session has been a success as all contents set in the agenda were fulfilled.

She expressed her hope that Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung will direct the implementation work to accomplish the city’s tasks in the future.

After the closing ceremony, Municipal People’s Council urged the Municipal People’s Committee and agencies concerned to put the recently-signed resolutions into place and assign tasks to the right staff.
