According to the Plan, the conference will take place on January 31st at the head quarter of the Municipal People’s Committee. It will focus on reviewing results of ensuring traffic order and safety in 2018, and deploying key missions of the year of traffic safety 2019; pointing out shortcomings, weaknesses, and reasons; setting up major missions and solutions to well carry out The Year of Traffic Safety 2019 under the theme “Ensuring Traffic Safety for Passengers and Motorbike Drivers”; proposing the National Committee for Traffic Safety, the Ministry of Transport, and relevant ministries, sectors to take specific solutions to reduce traffic accidents in the area.
Regarding inspections of traffic order and safety during Lunar New Year Festival 2019, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Municipal Police to take prime responsibility and cooperate with the Department of Transport, People’s Committees of districts, towns, and relevant units to conduct inspections before, during, and after the festival.
The Department of Transport will take prime responsibility, coordinate with the Municipal Police, People’s Committees of districts, towns and relevant units to establish inspection teams to monitor the implementation of Law on Traffic Order and Safety in all transport business units; make detail plans on examining drivers’ health in transportation units granted business registration certificates by the Department of Transportation, and finish the task in the second quarter of 2019 as directed by Standing Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh – Chairman of the National Committee for Traffic Safety at Announcement No. 25/TB-VPCP dated January 19th, 2019 of the Government Office.
