Accordingly, the Municipal People’s Committee asked units to effectively settle shortcomings, weaknesses, difficulties which were pointed out; take measures as scheduled; drastically handle fire safety violations as stipulated by law; clarify responsibilities of management units.
The Department of Police will review and consolidate facilities for fire prevention, search, and rescue. Similarly, People’s Committees of districts, suburban districts and towns will make plans on reviewing and investigating fire safety infrastructure system; check and remove illegal works obstructing fire fighting, search and rescue; make survey and build water reservoirs; cooperate with the Department of Construction to review and propose the repair, installation, and addition of fire hydrants and water tanks for firefighting in residential areas, urban areas and on streets; review industrial parks, and clusters; establish fire fighting terms as stipulated by law.
It is necessary to improve the effectiveness of popularization and education on fire fighting, search and rescue; enhance inspection of the compliance with fire prevention law in key areas, supermarkets, shopping malls, karaoke revenues, producing facilities, high-rise buildings, warehouses, residential areas; proactively detect risks of fire, explosion and handle violation cases as regulated.
People’s Committees of districts, suburban districts and towns are in charge of making inspection plans. Leaders of People’s Committees of communes, wards will be responsible for monitoring fire prevention in localities and reporting results.
People’s Committees of districts and towns need to pay special attention to building and bringing into full play fire fighting forces in localities so as to meet the “four-on-spot” motto.
