Ha Noi focuses on raising producers, distributors’ awareness, and responsibility of food safety (15:09 31/10/2018)


HNP – After over one year of implementing Plan No. 119/KH-UBND dated June 1st, 2017 of the Ha Noi People’s Committee on removing shortcomings, weaknesses; renewing and improving the efficiency of food safety in Ha Noi, the popularization task has significantly contributed to raising food producers, distributors’ awareness of food safety.


According to Nguyen Khac Hien, Director of the Ha Noi Department of Health, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Food Safety, communication activities on food safety have been innovated and spread widely among local residents. Over the past year, the city has organized 343 training courses with 20,763 trainees, 431 conferences with 30,646 attendees.


Notably, the Department of Health has opened 30 training classes for members of Steering Committees of district, suburban districts, towns, communes and wards.


Since March 2018, the Departments of Health launched the program “Identifying safe food” on HTV1 channel of Ha Noi Radio Television on every Saturday; cooperated with the Ha Noi Moi (New Ha Noi) Newspaper to organize a seminar on Party Committees’ role in ensuring food safety in the new situation.


Besides, the department also organized conferences on food safety; strengthened the popularization of the Action Month for Food Safety 2018 in districts, suburban districts, towns, communes, and wards; coordinated with the Department of Food Safety (under the Ministry of Health) to organize food safety training classes for 50 cadres; collaborated with the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health – Ha Noi Medical University to grant food safety management certificates to 56 officials; etc.


Carrying out the above duties, the Department of Industry and Trade organized 12 training courses of deploying the pilot project to enhance the management of fresh fruit stores in 12 downtown districts.


Similarly, the Agriculture and Rural Development also organized 424 conferences and training courses on food safety for nearly 30,000 attendees.

Furthermore, districts, suburban districts and towns strengthened the popularization of food safety; signed food safety commitments with 7,386 turns of facilities; etc.
