In the first day of the working visit, the delegation paid courtesy calls to LPRP General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith, Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou and Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith.
Warmly welcoming the Ha Noi high-ranking delegation, LPRP General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith expressed his delight at Viet Nam’s recent development achievements, congratulating the country on the successful APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and APEC Year 2017.
He said the CPV and the LPRP have closely coordinated to effectively realize their high-level agreements as well as cooperation agreements between the two Governments, contributing to each country’s stability and development along with peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He expressed his sincerely thanks for the huge and precious support and effective cooperation that the Vietnamese Party, State and people have given to his country throughout history.
LPRP General Secretary affirmed that Lao and Viet Nam will nurture the special solidarity in all fields. He also asked Vientiane and Ha Noi capitals to increase sharing information and experience and cooperate more strongly in the spheres that both sides are interested in, such as: infrastructure building, urban management, trade, tourism, and human resources development.
On the same day, the Ha Noi delegation has a meeting with Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou. She highly appreciated the visiting of Ha Noi high-ranking delegation and considered the visit important event among activities marking 55 years of Viet Nam-Laos diplomatic ties and 40 years of the signing of the countries’ Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation and contributing to the traditional relationship between the two parties, the two States and the people of the two countries, the two capitals of Ha Noi and Vientiane.

She applauded the recent outcomes of the two capital cities’ cooperation and thanked Ha Noi for supporting Vientiane over the past years.

Under the leadership of the two parties, the two Governments, the special relationship between Viet Nam and Laos has been increasingly developed in all fields, achieved positive achievements, he added.
Based on the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos, Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith said there are still huge potential for Viet Nam and Laos to promote their cooperation in economy, investment and trade. Particularly, there are numerous areas in which Vientiane and Ha Noi can support each other.
He voiced his hope that Ha Noi will step up exchanging development experiences with Vientiane in infrastructure construction, urban management, and educational, cultural and social affairs.

Expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality of Lao leaders, Ha Noi official praised the significant achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have gained during 30 years of renovation and important result after two years implementing the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
He expressed his belief that Laos will reap more fruits in the coming time under the leadership of the LPRP and build Laos into a country of peace, independence, democracy, unity, and prosperity towards the goal of socialism.
The ties constitute one of the most important factors that ensure the success of each country’s national defense and construction cause, he said.
Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai pledged the Lao leaders to create more favorable conditions for the two capitals to expand and enhance cooperation in the fields that match both sides’ demand and potential, especially in urban construction and management, investment, trade, tourism, education-training, and human resources development.
He stressed that Viet Nam, including Ha Noi will exert every effort to together with the Lao Party, State and people reinforce the countries’ special solidarity in all aspects in a substantive and effective manner.
The visit was of significance to bilateral ties, as it contributed to further developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in general and Ha Noi and Vientiane in particular in a more substantive and effective manner, meeting the aspirations of the two peoples for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large.
