Kim Jin Pyo showed his delight at the growing friendship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea while expressing his sincere thanks to the city leader for his warm welcome.
He wished the Municipal People’s Committee to continue paying attention and supporting for RoK’s enterprises and investors as well as expatriates in Hanoi.
Knowing that Hanoi is striving to build smart city model, Kim Jin Pyo wanted to study more about the city’s development demands so as to seek suitable partners for achieving the target.
For his part, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung affirmed that the RoK is not only a big trading partner but also a close friend of Vietnam.
Currently, about 150,000 RoK people are living and working in Vietnam, including 70,000 in Hanoi, he added.
According to the city leader, Hanoi has maintained the cooperation with the RoK’s Seoul capital city since 1996. The two localities have regularly conducted people-to-people exchanges to learn about each other’s experiences.
Regarding investment, he stressed that the RoK is currently the third largest investor in Hanoi with 1,871 ongoing projects worth US$5.3 billion.
The city official affirmed that Hanoi will create the best conditions for RoK’s firms to carry out their projects and other activities in the area.
Talking about Hanoi’s development goals, the Vice Chairman said that the city focuses on building smart city in order to improve people’s living standards.
He also hoped that via the working visit, the delegation will act as a bridge to boost ties between Hanoi and Korean partners in fulfilling the above targets while sharing RoK’s experiences with Hanoi agencies in making policies for labor and education development.
