Expressing his thanks to the Chairman for his warm welcome, Belgian Ambassador Paul Jansen highlighted the long-term cooperation between Belgium and Ha Noi, and hoping that the ties would grow further in future.
Especially, he thanked the Ha Noi People’s Committee for their support for the Embassy of Belgium in organizing a series of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of the Viet Nam – Begium relations in 2018, including “A Touch of Belgium” program held at the statue of King Ly Thai To.
Regarding issues which the two sides are interested in, including a project to restore the Thanh Long royal citadel with the engagement of Belgium's Boydens Engineering Company, a project on European Management University in Ha Noi, ODA project on managing loss of clean water between Belgium’s Hydrosan and the Ha Noi Clean Water Company, the diplomat wished the local authority to continue creating favorable conditions and giving more assistance in implementing the above cooperation programs.
In reply, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung affirmed that the city has always been willing to support necessary procedures and facilities for cooperation projects between Ha Noi and Belgium.
In term of cultural exchanges in 2018, the city leader applauded all activities held by the Belgian Embassy in the area.
He committed to welcoming activities to enhance cultural exchanges as well as cooperation with the Belgian Embassy in calling on Belgian businesses to seek ways to increase their investment in Viet Nam through trade – investment promotion.
