Ha Noi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung extends Tet greeting to Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee (22:19 04/02/2019)
On behalf of the city’s leaders, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung wished Buddhist monks, nuns and followers nationwide a new year with good health and prosperity.
Briefing the city’s outstanding outcomes in 2018 as well as preparations for upcoming Tet, the city leader expressed his sincere thanks to the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee, and Buddhist monks, nuns and followers for their companion with local authorities in building and developing the capital.
Regarding the United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations hosted by the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung committed to assign departments, sectors to jointly organize the event.
He expressed his hope that the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee will continue sound coordination with competent the city’s departments and sectors to organize more cultural activities for local people.
For his part, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council, wished the Chairman and officials continue overcoming difficulties and challenges to further develop the capital, deserving its title as a City of Peace.
He affirmed that the VBS always accompanies the city’s authorities in many fields, especially charity activities. On the occasion of Lunar New year, the VBS also visited and encouraged poor families to offer them a happy and cosy Tet. On the occasion of upcoming Tet, the VBS joins hands to ensure to ensure a warm Tet 2019 for local residents.
Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu suggested the Municipal People’s Committee continue paying special attention and creating favorable conditions for the VBS to successfully organize the United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations.
