The event saw the attendance of Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Nguyen Van Phong, Head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Education and Popularization; Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization; Phung Thi Hong Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council; and Ngo Van Quy, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee.
This is the 16th year that Hanoi has held such a ceremony to praise the valedictorians from universities and colleges in the area. In total, 50 students had high academic scores and 38 with good scores. 47 valedictorians have been members of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
Over the past 16 years, a total of 1,705 outstanding graduates have been honnoured and received certificates of merit of the Municipal People’s Committee. Many of them have had great contributions to the Capital and the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy praised and congratulated 88 valedictorians on their gained achievements over the past school year.
He hoped them to continue making more efforts to approach and apply advanced scientific and technological achievements in start-up businesses, contributing to developing a prosperous capital.
