At the reception, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung informed some outstanding achievements of Ha Noi’s socio – economic development in recent years.
He mentioned that in the coming time, Ha Noi will develop toward smart and sustainable city, and adding that the city expected to have more chances to exchange experiences with UK experts in the field.
Discussing some specific areas, the city leader said that currently, Ha Noi is piloting the Cambridge Baccalaureate Program in a number of secondary and high schools in the area so as to improve the quality of education as well as offer opportunities for student’s study. Thus, Ha Noi expected the UK to give assistance in supplying human resources.
Regarding an investment promotion conference between Ha Noi and the UK scheduled to be held in June, 2019 so as to promote the cooperation of the two sides, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung emphasized Ha Noi’s willingness to create favorable conditions for UK businesses to invest in the city.
He also expressed his hope to boost the cooperation with the UK in fields of investment and development of shopping malls and exchange more experiences in hi-tech agricultural development, criminal prevention, and control.

Expressing his thanks for Ha Noi’s assistance in cooperation activities between Viet Nam and the UK, including British Festival which will take place in November in Ha Noi, UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy Ed Vaizey hoped that the capital city will continue strengthening policy reform to better improve business environment, consolidate the trust for investors.
He also affirmed that in his position, he will always help Ha Noi expand and enhance the cooperation in all fields, thus contributing to boosting the relationship between Ha Noi and the localities of the UK in particular, Viet Nam and the UK in general.
