The program will include two parties. The first part will introduce works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Edvard Grieg, performed by Korean pianist Ji Sung Lee. The second will feature famous opera pieces by Giuseppe Verdi, performed by Vietnamese opera singers, such as Meritorious Artist Vanh Khuyen, Phuong Thao, Manh Dung and Dinh Chuc, together with the Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of Viet Nam National Opera and Ballet, under the baton of conductor Le Phi Phi.
Meritorious Artists Tran Ly Ly and Nguyen Hong Phong will play as artistic director and stage director for the concert respectively.
Born in Ha Noi, Le Phi Phi graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire. After graduation, he became the permanent conductor of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra from 1993 to 2000. He has also conducted numerous concerts around the world.
Since 1995, Phi has returned home regularly and joined hands with the VNOB and HBSO to organize concerts. He has also helped connect overseas Vietnamese artists with domestic art show organizers.
Ji Sung Lee is a talented young pianist from Korea. He graduated from the German music school in Weimer and soon returned to Korea. Lee has participated in many prestigious piano competitions in Korea and in the world and performed in many countries around the world, including Viet Nam.
