Trinh Cong Son walking street is part of the project on walking street and space for art performance and street food, which is implemented by the People’s Committee of Tay Ho district. It was delayed several times in an effort to prepare better infrastructure, landscape and seek for people’s consensus, and now is officially open.
Art performance is offered from 5PM to 11PM on Friday and from 6PM to 10PM on Saturday and Sunday, including folk music, contemporary music, street art and professional art. There are photo and painting exhibitions, introduction of art works, folk games, and other culture and art activities. All of them will take place on the street, near the lake and flower garden, creating a significant culture space of the West Lake which combines people’s life and nature.
Apart from art and culture activities, visitors enjoy trade, commerce and tourism services which can satisfy their demand of shopping, entertainment and relaxation. A number of stalls introduce food products and handicrafts from traditional villages of Ha Noi and especially Tay Ho district, highlighting the cultural values and boosting tourism in association with developing trade.
According to Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy, this is the second walking street of Ha Noi, which aims to create culture, art products and create a recreational place for Vietnamese as well as foreign visitors. He asked Tay Ho district and relevant city's departments to regularly review and improve quality of culture, art and food services on the street to meet demand of the locals and tourists as well.
The Vice Chairman urged authorities to mobilize force to maintain urban order, environmental sanitation and fire safety, arrange traffic flow and provide traffic guidance to the people, and maintain safety and order at parking places. also He requested more effort to conduct popularization, improve people’s and tourists’ awareness of the walking street, and encourage them to implement the Code of Conduct in public places.
Furthermore, Tay Ho district was asked to cooperate with relevant agencies to conduct inspection, receive feedback of the people, and learn experiences for further implementation of the project. Ha Noi expects to turn the walking street with these art, culture and cuisine activities into a special culture space of capital city, and create a new image of Ha Noi as a safe, friendly, high-quality and attractive travel destination.
Located near the lotus ponds and West Lake Water Park, Trinh Cong Son street is expected to attract many people. The walking area covers Trinh Cong Son street, part of 431 Alley and part of 612 Alley on Au Co Street (Tay Ho district).
