Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Health Hoang Duc Hanh said that, at present, there are more than 1,000 preschools and many child groups, so the city must well implement disease prevention and control to avoid disease outbreaks.
To effectively deploy the campaign, the Health Department asked medical stations of districts and towns in collaboration with Education and Training Divisions to advise People’s Committee to make plans on simultaneously launching environmental sanitation campaigns to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease in preschools; strengthen the popularization of disease prevention and control according to six warnings of the Ministry of Health in the community, especially among teachers, students and their parents.
After the launching ceremony, the Department of Health requested Education and Training Divisions of 30 districts and towns throughout the capital city to launch the campaign in all preschools in the area. At the event, delegates witnessed practice of hand-washing with soap at the Phuong Canh Preschool.
According to statistics of the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of 2018, Viet Nam has recorded nearly 4,000 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in 54 provinces and cities. Particularly, Ha Noi recorded 16 cases in 12 communes and wards in 7 districts.
