Second Bulgarian rose festival kicks off in Ha Noi (21:23 11/03/2018)


HNP – On the occasion of the National Day of Bulgaria (March 3), Embassy of Bulgaria in Viet Nam in collaboration with relevant units organized the second “Bulgaria Rose Festival with Friends 2018” on March 8 at the Ho Tay (West Lake) Water Park in Ha Noi.

At the festival, the Organizing Board displays thousands of different varieties of roses. There are more than 1,000 Bulgarian rose trees from over 100 types of roses which have been imported to Viet Nam. 
 
Especially, the event also showcases varieties of old rose flowers and trees from Viet Nam which have been grown for dozens of years. Visitors have the chance to admire the blossoms of a 200 year-old rose tree at the centre of the festival.
 
This year, roses displayed at the festival are decorated to modify artistic works such as houses or European-style gardens.
 
The festival also attracts the participation of Vietnamese rose gardens’ owners and rose trading companies to exhibit their products such as those from Xuan Quan garden in the northern province of Hung Yen, the Rose Park Company, the Grin House, the Ho Tay (West Lake) flower valley and Thang Long bonsai group, etc.
 
In the framework of the festival, a series of cultural and art performances including traditional street festival and customary performances of both Viet Nam and Bulgaria.
 
Furthermore,  a number of other activities, such as: Queen of Rose beauty contest, a contest of the most beautiful rose, rose dancing, an atmosphere of nostalgia for Bulgaria for those who have worked, studied and lived in the country is held in the festival.
 
Apart from cultural and art performances, many products made from roses (rose oil, rose perfume, rose tea) are ready to serve visitors.
