Over the past years, the movement of building new rural areas in the district has been effectively implementing and gaining remarkable achievements.
In terms of agricultural production, the district has realized many policies to support farmers in production and livestock, contributing to improving people’s living standards. In 2016, per capita income reached VND30.5 million. Besides, political security and social order have been maintained.
In terms of building new-style rural areas, at present, the district has 12 new rural communes. In 2017, the district selects eight communes to build new style rural areas, including: Phu Yen, Phu Tuc, Hong Minh, Thuy Phu, Quang Lang, Phuc Tien, Minh Tan, Tan Dan.
At the conference, the district recommended the capital city to pay attention to investing, supporting varieties for farmers; repairing, improving dike systems; promoting policies for development of craft villages; accelerating construction of clean water supply project in Thuy Phu, concentrated cattle slaughterhouses in Tri Thuy, Quang Lang Communes; supporting funds for infield irrigation; granting certificates of land use after exchanging small farming plots for a better reallocation of agricultural lands.
On behalf of the inspection team, Head of Rural Development Sub-Department Le Thiet Cuong highly appreciated the gained achievements by the district. At the same time, he also suggested that the district should continue strengthening communication on guidelines, policies on building new-style rural areas; encouraging enterprises, people to donate funds or in kind contribution; taking policies to supporting techniques for farmers; expanding area for safe vegetable cultivation, etc.
Meanwhile, communes, villages which finish the exchanging of small farming plots for a better reallocation of agricultural lands should focus on overcoming difficulties; adjusting contents in the project of building new-style rural areas to make it suitable to the reality of the localities.
