According to Ha Noi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, over the past six months, the city has actively and synchronously implemented measures to attract domestic and foreign investment capital.
The registered capital of investment projects outside the State budget reached VND190,922 billion, up 74.6 percent year-on-year, including: 58 projects outside the national budget with total investment of VND 34,177.6 billion; 24 public-private partnership (PPP) projects with total investment of VND 32,103 billion; the number of newly-established enterprises is 13,355 (up 16 percent) with the total registered capital of VND 101,476 billion (up 2 percent); 269 foreign investment projects with registered capital of US$ 1,053 million, equivalent to VND 23,166 billion (equivalent to 55.2 percent compared with the same period last year) with estimated capital of US$550 million. The trade sector earned VND 767 trillion in revenue, up 7.3 percent year-on-year.
Additionally, the capital city has signed a memorandum of understanding with Japanese enterprises investing in Ha Noi with total capital of US$ 5.2 billion.
In January-June period, the industrial production index (IPI) increased by 6.1 percent against the same period last year. Of which, electrical production and distribution up 8.6 percent; manufacturing and processing industry up 6.3 percent; water supply and waste and sewage management and treatment up 3 percent.
The city has attracted 13 invested-projects with a total registered capital of US$ 64.2 million in industrial zones; seven investment projects in Quat Dong industrial zone with a total registered capital of VND 217.3 billion.
In the first six months of this year, the city’s earnings from goods and services was estimated at over VND 1.1 quadrillion, a rise of 7.2 percent over the same period last year, including VND 258,823 billion from retail, up 7.1 percent.
In January-June period, Ha Noi welcomed around 11,850,888 investors, up 8 percent over the same period last year, including around 2,332,506 international visitors, up 14 percent year-on-year, of the number 1,666,076 international tourists made their stay in the capital city, an increase of 12 percent in comparison to the same period last year. The number of domestic visitors was 9,518,382, representing a year-on-year increase of 6 percent. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 35,262 billion, up 13 percent over the same period last year.
