Speaking at the reception at Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc highly appreciated success of the embassy in consular affairs, protecting and supporting Vietnamese people in Bulgaria. She suggested the embassy should help Vietnamese people ease difficulties in residence and business, maintain and promote the national identity, develop the Vietnamese community and act as the link between the two countries as well as capital cities.
The Ha Noi delegation visited historical and cultural sites in Sofia (Bulgaria), and learned experiences of the site preservation and promotion, renovation of cultural sites, planning and urban architecture, traffic routes and urban lighting system.
Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung had working session with Sofia Investment Agency under the Sofia Municipal Council. He applauded success of Sofia in the fields of social, economic development, tourism and health, and expected for more cooperation between the two capital cities in different fields, especially tourism, healthcare and construction.
On August 7, Ha Noi delegation led by Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc had meeting with leaders of Sofia Municipal Council and Committee led by Chairman of the Municipal Council Kaloyan Pargov. The two sides exchanged experiences of apparatus, functions, missions and relations between the council and committee to perform socio-economic development task,especially the operation of local governments and cooperation for tourism development between Ha Noi and Sofia.
Furthermore, two cities agreed to send missions to exchange experience and boost cooperation, introduce potentials for tourism development, organize Culture Days, enhance investment promotion, call for Bulgarian enterprises to invest in Ha Noi and Viet Nam, and recommend Vietnamese businesses for investment in Bulgaria. Ha Noi and Sofia also increase cooperation for education and training, in particular vocational training, and social order and security.
In Lisbon (Portugal), Ha Noi officials visited and learned experience in managing, promoting historical sites and tourist attractions. The municipal delegation also exchanged experience in calling for contribution of people, economic organizations and occupational associations to renovate ancient and cultural sites, and inspected planning of parks, flower gardens and recreational places, traffic congestion, environmental pollution and waste treatment.
