Sector of tourism: Strengthening use of Vietnamese products (09:44 13/06/2018)


HNP - The campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to use Vietnamese products” has been seen as a great policy of the Party and State as well as a central mission of the action program launched by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front since 2009. In response to the campaign, the Ha Noi Department of Tourism has taken many solutions to promote the use of domestic products and services.

Currently, Ha Noi has a total of 846 international travel agencies and about 200 domestic businesses. Responding to the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to use Vietnamese products”, the Department of Tourism has synchronously taken a wide range of activities to introduce and encourage the city’s travel agencies to respond to the campaign and set up tourism promotion programs in combination with procurement of Vietnamese goods.

To improve the quality of goods and services to serve tourists, the department has cooperated with accommodation facilities, especially big hotels to introduce and sell fine art products of traditional craft villages and encourage developing craft village tours. In 2017, the total revenue of tourism sector reached VND 70 trillion.


In addition, the department has built shopping chains and food establishment; coordinated with relevant agencies to instruct business owners to complete their infrastructure, human resources, services, etc.


Currently, the capital city has a total of 32 business facilities and 36 establishments with catering services meeting food safety standards to serve tourists, contributing to beautiful images for visitors coming to the Capital.


However, the department has coped with some difficulties and challenges in carrying out the campaign.

According to President of the Ha Noi Tourism Association Nguyen Manh Than, to improve the quality of the campaign, the sector should enhance education and training, improve the quality of human resource and ensure reasonable prices.


Besides, craft villages should raise the awareness of supplying goods, ensuring the quality of goods, services and protecting environment in craft villages, etc.

Regarding to the above – mentioned matter, Vu Hong Khanh, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front’s Ha Noi Chapter and Head of the Steering Committee for the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to use Vietnamese products” said that to promote the campaign, the tourism sector should strengthen supply and demand connections via introduction of tourism products and services in association with high quality Vietnamese goods.


He also asked the Department of Tourism to continue strengthening introduction of tourism services and domestic goods; instructing visitors to visit facilities producing and distributing typical products; improving the quality of tourism services, etc.
