At the reception, Vice Mayor of Edessa Anastasios Diou said that this is the first time a delegation of high-ranking officials from Edessa city has visited and had a working session with a city of Viet Nam. The visit is designed to learn more about local culture and history, and augment cooperation in tourism between localities, especially with Ha Noi and Nghe An Province.
He expressed his belief that after the working visit to Ha Noi, the relations between the two cities will further develop in future. Edessa will positively organize many business teams to Ha Noi and other areas to promote investments in Viet Nam, he added.
In turn, expressing his sincere thanks to Edessa’ leader, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung emphasized that Ha Noi hopes to enhance exchanges and coordination with all provinces and cities in the world.
Talking to the guest, the city leader said that Ha Noi, known as the capital of thousand years of civilization, has many cultural and historical relic sites which have been recognized as World Heritages by the UNESCO.
With a population of nearly 10 million and area of more than 3,000 square kilometers, Ha Noi is seen as a potential market for both domestic and foreign businesses.
In 2017 alone, the capital welcomed roughly 3,000 Greek visitors and Greek businesses have invested in various areas in Viet Nam, including tourism, he noted.
On the occasion, Vice Chairman Nguyen The Hung affirmed that Ha Noi will be willing to welcome Greek businesses to invest in the city in particular and Viet Nam in general.
