Online conference on deploying key missions of administrative reform for 2018 held (06:54 11/02/2018)
Among Ha Noi’s leaders were Permanent Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’ Committee Nguyen Van Suu and leaders of some departments, sectors in the area.
In 2017, the Government, the PM and the Steering Committee paid special attention to strengthening administrative reform so as to accelerate the process as well as fulfill targets of the socio-economic development and meet integration demands of the country.
Considering the institutional building and completion as a key task in 2017, the Government submitted 18 laws to the National Assembly for approval. 166 decrees were submitted to the Government so as to adjust arising socio-economic relations.
Additionally, the simplification of administrative procedures related to production, trade made positive changes, contributing to creating favorable conditions for start-up development. So far, nearly 127,000 new enterprises have been established; FDI capital reached USD 17.5 billion.
According to a report by the World Bank, Vietnam was placed 68th out of 190 economies in business environment rankings in 2017, 14 places higher than in 2016.
Besides, agencies and units also paid attention to investing in information and technology (IT) infrastructure to meet demands of public duties and create a basis to develop e-government. The application of IT also brought positive results, contributing to improving the operational efficiency of state administrative bodies and the quality of public services for organizations and people.

Making a statement at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu said that over the past years, the city has realized administrative reform as a breakthrough for its development.
He underlined that Ha Noi selected the working theme “the year of administrative discipline” for 2017 so as to tighten administrative discipline and innovate working style to make changes in performing public duties.
Similarly, Ha Noi effectively arranged the apparatus according to Resolution No. 39/NQ-TW of the Politburo and consolidated, re-organized public service delivery units, he added.
Addressing at the meeting, Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh appreciated that in 2017 the administrative reform work was deployed synchronously and gained great achievements, significantly contributing to creating a favourable and clear legal corridor for socio-economic development.
The Permanent Deputy PM asked ministries, sectors and localities to popularize policies and resolutions on administrative reform of the Party, the National Assembly and the Government to raise the awareness of the entire political system, officials, public servants.
He also asked the functional agencies to step up the reorganization and consolidation of the streamlined administrative apparatus in order to effectively operate.
He urged the development of mechanisms, policies and laws in all fields, particularly science and technology, information and communications,education and training, in order to improve the productivity, quality and competitiveness of the country’s economy.
The Steering Committee is assigned to strengthen the administrative reform in fields of land, taxation, agriculture, rural affairs, IT applications, start-up business, tourism, social insurance, revolutionary contributors, the Permanent Deputy PM said.
