Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Noi Vu Hong Khanh, Head of the Municipal Party Committee's Commission of Propaganda and Education Nguyen Van Phong and Head of Municipal Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyen Lan Huong were present at the reception.
On behalf of city leaders, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai offered greetings to the Spiritual Assembly of Baha’i Le Dai Hanh on the occasion of Bicentennial of the Birth of Bahá'u'lláh. He wished the Baha’i community good health and happiness, and expected for their contribution to build community solidarity, create consensus and support each other for progress of the society.
Hoang Trung Hai also hoped that the Baha’i community in cooperation with governments at all levels, Fatherland Front Committee and social organizations will encourage followers to comply with religious tenet, elegant and civilized lifestyles, and contribute to spreading good values for a peaceful and united community.
The Baha’i Faith was introduced in Viet Nam in 1954; now it has nearly 7,000 followers in 45 cities and provinces nationwide. It was officially recognized as a religious organization in Viet Nam on July 14, 2008.
The same day, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung received the delegation of Baha’i Le Dai Hanh community.
Chairman of the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’i Le Dai Hanh Pham Van Duyen informed Nguyen Duc Chung about activities of the religious community, and expressed sincere thanks for the government’s support for the Baha’i Viet Nam.
For his part, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung offered greetings to the Baha’i followers on the occasion of Bicentennial of the Birth of Bahá'u'lláh. He confirmed that the city government creates favorable condition for not only the Baha’i community but also all religions in Ha Noi on the principle of religious freedom and compliance with the laws.
