In 2017, the Ha Noi Department of Taxation exceeded estimates of budget revenue and expenditure. The total revenue of budget reached VND 192,789 billion, posting a year on year increase of 18.1%.
In terms of communication, over the past year, the Taxation Department has organized 88 training courses for 12,669 taxpayers; sent e-mails of new tax policies and administrative produces to 150,000 enterprises.
In terms of inspection, the Department of Taxation implemented 18,062 sessions with the total fine of VND 3,303 billion, representing a year on year surge of 7.4%.
Additionally, the Department has cooperated with the Social Insurance Agency and the Labor Confederation to check the payment of social insurance and trade union fees and handle violation cases. Furthermore, since the beginning of 2017, the Department of Taxation has offered solutions for debt collection.

To fulfill assigned missions in 2018, the Department of Taxation pointed out two breakthroughs, including: “improving the capacity and efficiency of tax management with a focus on improving the quality of human resources and discipline, morality in performing public duties” and “Managing tax by electronic, advanced and modern methods; strengthening administrative reform to serve local taxpayers”.
Besides, the Taxation Department will advise functional agencies to issue mechanisms and policies to develop production, trade and attract investment and create sustainable revenue resources; encourage and support newly-established businesses and start-ups; enhance inspection to handle violation cases, etc.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan highly appreciated achievements gained by the Taxation Department in 2017, especially simplifying administrative procedures to create favorable conditions for enterprises and taxpayers.
He suggested that right at the beginning of 2018, the Department should deploy its missions of budget collection and timely give reports on difficulties and entanglements to the Municipal People’s Committee.
The Vice Chairman also asked the Department to cooperate with the Department of Enterprise Management (under the General Department of Taxation) in reviewing and tightly managing revenues. The Department should advise the Ministry of Finance, General Department of Taxation and the Municipal People’s Committee to set up tax policies so as to create favorable conditions for enterprises and taxpayers as directed by the Prime Minister at the conference on deploying missions of the financial sector, he added.
At the conference, three individuals received Second-Class Labor Medals and two others received Third-Class Labor Medals. The Municipal People’s Committee also presented emulation flags to four collectives and certificates of merit to two individuals.
