Viet Nam EXPO 2017: Enhancing Regional and Global economic links (18:48 20/04/2017)


HNP – The 27th International Trade Fair (Viet Nam EXPO 2017) themed “Enhancing Regional and Global economic links” officially kicked off on April 19 at International Centre of Exhibition (I.C.E ).


Delegates cut the ribbon to kick off the fair, Ha Noi, April 19.


This year’s event has attracted more than 500 firms with nearly 600 booths from 16 provinces and cities in Viet Nam and 23 countries and territories, such as:  Algeria, India, Cuba, Cambodia, Germany, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Russia, Nepal, Japan, Mongolia, Laos, Thailand, Turkey, China, Iran, etc.

A wide range of products are displayed at the expo, including industrial machinery and equipment, construction material, electronics, information technology, beverages, healthcare products and services.

As an honored nation of Viet Nam EXPO 2017, 138 booths of 130 businesses from RoK take part in this year’s event. Main products of the RoK on display include electronics, cosmetics, toys, processed food and household appliances, which are listed in the tax reduction plan under the Viet Nam – RoK Free Trade Agreement signed in 2015.

Towards the goal of boosting export and developing the domestic market, promoting the trademark of goods and services which  are the strength and potential of Viet Nam, many enterprises who honored as the National Brand actively participate the event, such as: Ha Noi Trade Corporation (Hapro), Tran Phu Electric Mechanical Joint - Stock Company, Da Nang Rubber Joint-Stock Company, Binh Minh Plastics Joint Stock Company, Duy Tan Plastic Joint Stock Company, Tien Phong Plastic, Alcohol, Beer and Beverage (Habeco).

In addition, Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency has continued to collaborate with Korean Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) to set up “Viet Nam – Korea Design Sharing Pavilion” which displays and promotes typical designed products of Viet Nam and Republic of Korea. Initiated since 2010, the program has provided support for 3,500 participating companies. There were also free consultations provided to local companies on market demand surveys, ideas’ development, branding and packaging.

Additionally, Viet Nam investment promotion and trade development pavilion organized by Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency will provide investors, foreign trade promotion organizations, especially investors from Japan and RoK with updated information on investment environment in Viet Nam; at the same time, introduce the strengths and policies attracting investment, commitments of local governments as well as investment opportunities in the fields of fishery, mining, renewable energy, textiles and garments of four localities of Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Dong Thap.

On the sideline of the event, several trade promotion activities will also be organized, such as a forum on Viet Nam’s export promotion and a meeting between businesses from Viet Nam and China’s Guangxi province, which will take place on April 20 to seek trade opportunities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh said that the event is an important trade promotion event which creates great chances for Viet Nam and international enterprises to exchange, establish and reinforce trade relationship, towards a diverse export and import markets, investment and technology transfer.
