The delegation on September 9 paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister and President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
At the reception, Cambodian PM Hun Sen Samdech Techo Hun Sen warmly welcomed the visit of Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai and Ha Noi delegation in Cambodia which was made at the time when both countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties, underlining that the visit will contribute to further strengthening and expanding the cooperation in all sectors between the two nations and the two capitals.
He stressed that in any circumstances, he will do his utmost to deepen the relations with Viet Nam.
Leaders of both sides should create favorable conditions for all levels, sectors, provinces, such as Ha Noi and Phnom Penh to expand and strengthen cooperation in all fields, especially in trade, investment, tourism, culture, education and training, development of high quality human resources; increasing the sharing of information and experience in urban management, and strengthen people-to-people contact, he added.
The Cambodian premier also briefed his guest on the current situation of Phnom Penh, including traffic congestion, the increase in the number of vehicles, and people’s living standard. Besides, he laid stress on the royal government’s commitment to find more markets for Cambodian agricultural products, mainly rice, and requested the Vietnamese side to buy more agricultural products from Cambodia.
For his part, Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his delegation during his visit to Cambodia.
He briefed his host on the cooperation outcomes between the two capital cities. Ha Noi offered over US$ 5 million to Phnom Penh to build the Phnom Penh-Ha Noi Boulevard in the hope of contributing to the growth of Cambodia, he noted.
The Ha Noi Party Committee Secretary highly appreciated Cambodia’s progress in all domains, especially the reform of agriculture and services sectors as well as the royal government’s policies to enhance garment workers’ welfare and living standard.
Hai also expressed his belief that the CPP will continue steering Cambodia to achieve new, greater national successes in the future.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of shared concern, including the planning, infrastructure development, urban management, as well as policies for enterprises to invest in each other, and the support for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia and Phnom Penh in particular.

Expressed his sincere thanks for the warm welcome they received from the Phnompenh leaders, Secretary Hai said that the visiting aims at further strengthening bilateral ties and reinforcing friendship and cooperation between the two countries in general and Ha Noi and Phnom Penh in particular; celebrating the 50th founding anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties, reviewing the implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements and discussing future coordination plans between the cities.

Over the past years, Ha Noi has worked hard to assist Phnom Penh to build many public works, including the Phnom Penh-Ha Noi Boulevard (worth over US$ 5 million) and Phnom Daun Penh primary schools (worth US$ 2 million), etc.

On behalf of the Phnompenh authority, Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng warmly welcomed the visit of Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai and Ha Noi delegation.
The two sides informed each other on their respective city’s socio-economic development as well as outstanding achievements in all fields.
Governor Khuong Sreng thanked Ha Noi for effective help in the construction and development of Phnom Penh.
The two sides agreed to promote collaboration activities in all fields for the growth of both sides, including: exchanging experiences on urban management and development; facilitating businesses of two sides to develop investment in production, business, trade, culture, education, health, especially tourism, heritage management and exploitation.
Both sides considered that the talks laid down a new foundation for the two cities’ cooperation.
