Secretary Hai highly appreciated the visit of the governor and his delegation to Viet Nam and welcomed further strengthening the cooperation between the Utah State and Ha Noi.
He briefed the guests on Ha Noi’s socio-economic accomplishments, as well as the achievement, challenges and directions for socio-economic development of the capital city. He voiced his hope that Ha Noi and Utah State will strengthen comprehensive cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
For his part, Utah Governor expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality of Ha Noi leaders. He also expressed his admiration for Viet Nam's achievements in its comprehensive reform; highly appreciating the positive development of bilateral relation between the two countries over the past few years.
He said that Utah has advantages in education and training, science and high technology and coping with climate change, etc. The state will share experience, transfer technology and cooperate with Ha Noi in these fields, contributing positively to the development of Viet Nam - United States relations.
On the same day, Utah Governor Gary Herbert took part in a dialogue of Ha Noi and Utah businesses. The dialogue was attended by representatives from 15 Ha Noi enterprises and 25 from Utah.
On the framework of the event, the Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee and US state signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on forming friendly and cooperative relations.
