Spring Book Festival 2017 officially opens (16/03/2017)
HNP – The Spring Book Festival 2017 themed “Small book, big mind” officially kicked at Viet Nam’s Women Museum (No.36 Ly Thuong Kiet Street) on March 15.
Jointly organized by Phu Nu (Women), Tre (the Youth) and Kim Dong Publishing House, the Spring Book Festival - the 6th of its kind so far - aims at developing reading culture and creating more cultural spaces for local citizens.
The event will feature books from different genres, including literary works, history books, manga, science textbooks and cookbooks. The latest releases of Kim Dong, Women and Youth Publishing House will also be introduced at the event.
Visitors to the event can get 15 – 50 percent discounts on all print materials. Additionally, book lovers can buy books at reduced prices of VND2,000 to VND20,000 per book at one-price book booths.
On the occasion, the publishing house will host a book launch to introduce the book Dan ong cung co diem G (Male G spot) by Di Li, Tam Phan and Hoang Anh Tu.
Under the framework of the event, the organizing board will organize some seminars on early education method with the theme "Every child is a genius" and "The way young people see the world”.
A Japanese book series and a set of books entitled “All about Japan”, and a set of book using software for readers to watch 3D pictures on mobile phone will be introduced.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Director of Library Department under Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism Vu Duong Thuy Nga said that the Prime Minister has just signed the scheme on "Developing reading culture in the community in 2016-2020 period, orientation to 2030", aiming at promoting reading culture across the country.
The book festival will last until March 19.
