Ministry of Industry and Trade urges control over alcohol production and management (17/03/2017)
HNP - Ministry of Industry and Trade has recently issued Directive 02/CT-BCT on tightening control over food safety in alcohol production and management.
Accordingly, in an effort to minimize damages caused by food poisoning, guarantee safety of consumers and increase state management of alcohol production and management nationwide, Ministry of Industry and Trade urges local Departments of Industry and Trade in cities and provinces under the Central Government to realize Public Telegraph 371/CD-TTg dated March 10, 2017 of the Prime Minster on handling consequences of alcohol poisoning cases and increasing management of food safety of alcohol products.
Ministry of Industry and Trade also requests more effort to enhance state management of alcohol production and trade, in particular homemade wines and wines of unclear origin.
Organizations and individuals are not allowed to show and trade unlabeled, unstamped alcohol products or alcohol products of unclear origin in any way. Authorities conduct unscheduled inspection and examination to detect infractions; strict punishments are applied for violations of food safety according to regulations of Law on Food Safety.
