Ha Noi leaders offer incense at the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Monument (12/09/2017)
HNP – A high-ranking delegation of Ha Noi led by Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai on September 10 laid wreaths and offered incense at the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Monument in Phnom Penh to pay tribute to the volunteer Vietnamese soldiers who died during wartime in the country.

Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Monument is one of the 17 monuments in Cambodia dedicated to the volunteer Vietnamese soldiers who died during wartime in Cambodia.
The monument is a symbol of the Viet Nam-Cambodia friendship and a reminder of Cambodia’s hard times in the past.
On the same day, the delegation visited the Phnom Penh-Ha Noi Friendship Avenue which is being built with the financial support of Ha Noi.
Ha Noi offered over US$ 5 million to Phnom Penh to build the Phnom Penh-Ha Noi Boulevard in the hope of contributing to the growth of Cambodia.
The 10-kilometre long road, under Cambodia’s belt road No.2 construction project, is one of key works to develop transport infrastructure in Phnom Penh and neighbouring localities. It will help tackle congestion in Cambodia’s capital city.
Eelier, the Ha Noi delegation had a meeting with Head of state of Cambodia and President of the Cambodian Senate, who is also Vice President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Say Chhum and met with President of the CPP’s Phnom Penh chapter Pa Socheatevong.

Secretary Hai congratulated Cambodia on its successful election at communal level and noted his belief that under the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni and the leadership of the Cambodian Senate, the National Assembly and the Royal Government, Cambodian people will overcome all challenges to gain greater achievements in building a country of peace, independence, democracy and social progress.
He expressed his hope that the Royal Government of Cambodia led by the Cambodian People’s Party will obtain more success, particularly in the national election in 2018.
In reply, Head of state of Cambodia and President of the Cambodian Senate said that he will make all-out efforts to deepen the comprehensive cooperation between the two States as well as between the CPP and the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV).
He highly valued the support of Ha Noi for Phnom Penh and underlined that, in his position, he will continue instructing committees of the Cambodian Senate to back policies on cooperation between the two countries. The Cambodian Senate will also enhance partnerships with committees of the Vietnam National Assembly, especially in the exchange of experience in law-making, supervision and decision-making on the country’s major matters; create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises and Vietnamese communities in Cambodia to have a stable life, actively contributing to the Cambodia’s development as well as to promote relations between Viet Nam and Cambodia.

At the meeting with CPP’s Phnom Penh chapter Pa Socheatevong, the two sides affirmed that they will do their utmost to deepen the comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, continue instructing departments and agencies of Ha Noi and Phnom Penh to tighten their collaboration in economy, trade and tourism, contributing to maintaining and consolidating traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Cambodia.
