Ha Noi leader receives Western Cape Premier (13/09/2017)

HNP - Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung on September 11 hosted a reception for a high-ranking delegation of Western Cape (South Africa) led by its Premier Helen Zille.

At the reception, Western Cape Premier Helen Zille highly appreciated the developing process of Viet Nam and impressed with the speed of development of Ha Noi city with very low rates of inflation and crime.

She expressed her hope to strengthen cooperation with Ha Noi in the fields which the two sides have advantages, such as: tourism, agricultural products, aquatic products, fresh fruits, vegetable products, etc.

For his part, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung briefed the guests on socio-economic accomplishments of Viet Nam in general and Ha Noi in particular.

Under the motto “Viet Nam wants to be a friend and a partner with countries around the world”, Viet Nam has diplomatic relations with nearly 200 countries. Viet Nam has joined many bilateral and multilateral trade agreements. The reform of administrative procedures has been accelerated, creating favorable conditions for foreign enterprises and investors. Tourism becomes a key economic sector of the country.

Ha Noi has focused on three breakthrough points, including (i) uniformly developing and step-by-step modernizing the urban and rural infrastructure, (ii) continuing to step up the administrative reform and improve the investment environment and (iii) enhancing the quality of human resource. Additionally, the city always creates favorable conditions for foreign investors in the fields which Viet Nam and Ha Noi  have advantages.

Ha Noi has mobilized the entire population to participate in the National Program for Crime Prevention, he added.

He underlined that Western Cape and Ha Noi have the same potentials for development of culture, tourism, commerce, agriculture, fisheries, etc. He voiced his hope that the visiting will create a basis for Ha Noi and Western Cape to sign comprehensive cooperation.
