Providing information of basic health service package (10/11/2017)
HNP – The Ministry of Health on November 8 met press agencies to give full information of basic health service package (BHSP) and health examination and treatment through health insurance.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) issued the Circular No. 39/TT-BYT on October 18, 2017, regulating the BHSP in local health routes. The Circular has taken effect since December 1, 2017. Accordingly, the BHSP aims at making sure that all people can use health services when they need as well as ensuring people’s benefits toward public healthcare coverage.
The BHSP paid by the health insurance fund includes essential healthcare services to take care of people’s health which are suitable to the liability of the health insurance fund. The MoH also identified that the BHSP is built on the principle of ensuring that all people have access to high quality health services.
The BHSP includes one reimbursed by health insurance fund and another serving primary healthcare, prevention and health promotion.
Particularly, the BHSP reimbursed by health insurance fund includes health examination and treatment services which are provided at medical stations in communes, wards and towns. Meanwhile the other provides essential health services which are supplied at medical stations of districts, suburban districts and communes, wards, towns.
The establishment of the BHSP has focused on providing primary healthcare services, including expanding basic services for communal medical routes so as to better ensure people’s benefits because they will use more diversified and qualified health services in the localities.
In addition, the BHSP is a basis to make clear demands as well as to improve the ability of medical establishments so as to make sure that all facilities can supply essential services with high quality.
