Summarizing ten years of performing Law on gender equality (11/08/2017)
HNP – The Ha Noi Women’s Association organized a conference on August 10, assessing results of ten years of implementing the Law on gender equality (2007 – 2017); five years of carrying out the Decree 56/2012/ND-CP for the 2012 – 2017 period.

After ten years of implementing the Law on gender equality and five years of carrying out the Decree 56/2012/ND-CP, the awareness of the role and position of women in the society has been improved remarkably. In addition, Party Committees and authorities at all levels have paid more attention to the gender equality task; taking care and dealing with concerned social issues relating to women; creating favorable conditions for Women’s Associations at all levels to take part in managing the State in all fields of the society.
Over the past ten years, Women’s Associations at all levels have organized 15,870 training courses, conferences, workshops, exchanges to enrich knowledge of gender equality for 10,000 turns of key leaders of sectors, agencies, social and political collectives form the city to localities and 22,500 turns of specialized staffs, etc.
Promoting the key role, the Women’s Associations have proactively strengthened the popularization to encourage members to participate in building new style rural areas, maintaining urban order and civilization, contributing to completing missions of the Capital’s socio-economic development.
Every year, the Women’s Associations cooperates with functional sectors to organize thousands of training courses on science and technology transfer, crop and animal restructuring, vocational training, job creation, etc; provide loans worth VND 3,475 billion to 127,215 households for economic development.
Over the past ten years, the Women’s Associations have implemented thousands of practical works, including: repairing 965 houses for poor women with the total cost of VND 26 billion, offering savings books to women in difficult circumstances and 3,312 scholarships to children in difficult circumstances; raising nearly VND 39 billion for flood-hit victims, etc.
Furthermore, the Women’s Associations have also carried out various measures for poverty reduction. By the end of 2016, the capital city reduced by 25,037 poor households, bringing the rate of poor households to 2.27%.
In the coming time, Women’s Associations at all levels will continue improving the awareness of the entire political system and officials, members on carrying out the Law on gender equality; effectively and synchronously implementing policies on gender equality to create favorable conditions for woman advance and development; taking care and protecting rights of women and children; building cultural families as well as loyal – generous - resourceful - creative - elegant women.
