Ha Noi to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Belarus, Latvia, Croatia (13/08/2017)
HNP - A high-ranking delegation from Ha Noi led by Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan paid a working trip to Belarus, Latvia, Croatia from July 30. The delegation also included Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy and other senior officials of Ha Noi.

In Belarus, the delegation had a working session with Chairman of the municipal Executive Committee Andrei Victorovich Shorets and leaders of several ministries and branches of the Republic of Belarus and the Minsk government.
The Ha Noi leader affirmed that Ha Noi attaches importance to developing its relations with capitals, major cities and countries that are Viet Nam’s traditional friends, including Minsk. The relationship between Viet Nam and Belarus has been closer and stronger since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. The friendship and co-operation between the two capital cities, Ha Noi and Minsk, has also grown steadily in many fields. Both sides have signed many cooperation agreements in recent years, contributing to the expansion and deepening the bilateral cooperation, strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and exchanges between the people of the two countries in general and the people of the two cities in particular.
For his part, Chairman of the Municipal Executive Committee Andrei Victorovich Shorets stressed that the relationship between the two capital cities holds an important role in the two countries’ ties. He believed that the delegation’s visit will help foster the cities’ comprehensive cooperation in the time to come.
They agreed on contents of a draft cooperation program proposed by Minsk, with a focus on boosting collaboration in urban transport, healthcare, tourism and culture.
Deputy Secretary Toan voiced his hope to receive Belarus’s experience in building, managing and using an international-standard library system.
He took the occasion to invite Chairman of Minsk's Executive Committee Andrei Victorovich Shorets and high-ranking delegation of Minsk city to visit Ha Noi and sign corporation agreement between two capital cities.
* Under the framework of the working visit, the Ha Noi delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Belarus. Deputy Secretary Toan voiced his hope that, Vietnamese diplomatic missions of Vietnamese Embassy in Belarus will continue to support Ha Noi to develop friendly, cooperative and mutually beneficial relationships with Minsk and other localities of Belarus in the coming time.
* In Riga capital of Latvia, on August 4, the delegation had a working session with Mayor and Chairman of the City Council Nils Usakovs.
At the reception, the Riga Mayor introduced the guest to the city’s experience in managing old quarters, resident management and tourism development.
Mr. Toan affirmed that Ha Noi attaches importance to developing its relations with traditional friends, including Riga in numerous areas and strengthen friendship and cultural exchange between the two peoples.

He suggested the two cities boost collaboration in economics, finance and tourism, share experience in managing old quarters and preserving ancient architectural works.
In reply, Mayor and Chairman of the City Council Nils Usakovs believed that the visiting will open a new stage in the development of bilateral cooperation between the two cities.
* In Zagreb capital of Croatia, the Ha Noi delegation visited several cultural sites, and learned about the city’s experience in urban management and planning and conservation of cultural heritage sites and ancient architectural works.
