On behalf of leaders of the Party and State, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan extended greetings to Buddhist dignitaries and followers.
She stressed that the United Nations Days of Vesak (UNDV) is not only an important religious event for Buddhist followers but also a cultural festival for Vietnamese people. This year is the third time Vietnam hosted the Vesak Celebrations – Vesak 2019. The event drew the participation of more than 1,600 delegates from 112countries and territories along with thousands of Buddhist monks, nuns and Vietnamese followers at home and abroad.
The Party and State of Vietnam have paid special attention to the Vesak 2019 which left strong impression on international friends, affirming the Party and State always respect freedom of belief and religion of people, the NA Chairwoman emphasized.
She also appreciated and congratulated the VBS on the success of the Vesak 2019, and added that over the past years, the VBS has tried its best to consolidate and promote the national unity.

The NA leader hoped that Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu and Buddhist clergy will continue encouraging Buddhist believers to comply with guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State, and fulfill the obligations of a citizen, contributing to building and protecting the country of Vietnam for the goal of a wealthy people, strong country, and a democratic, fair and civilized society.
