Results of cooperation between Ha Noi and provinces in animal husbandry development (20:32 14/11/2018)
According to Nguyen Huy Dang, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ha Noi currently has about 25 thousand buffaloes, 129 thousand cows, 1.8 million pigs, etc with the total output of about 434 thousand tons.
Over the past years, the city’s animal husbandry sector has gained many remarkable achievements while strengthening the restructuring with the application of high technology, and development of concentrated farms as well as enhancing inspection of diseases in animals.
Furthermore, the sector has focused on producing high quality seeds, contributing to improving the productivity and quality of products; developing supply chains with many well-known branches, such as Ba Vi chicken, Son Tay chicken, Van Dinh duck, etc. Especially, Ha Noi has strengthened cooperation to consume its products in provinces, cities throughout the country.
Besides, the livestock sector has positively coordinated with 24 provinces and cities to enhance disease prevention, quarantine of transportation and inspection of slaughtering animals.
The animal Husbandry Development Center has also enhanced cooperation and experience exchange with many units, enterprises in provinces in animal husbandry sector, building value chains, etc.
At the conference, delegates discussed many solutions, while stressing that the changes in farmers’ mind are needed to meet demands of the market.
They agreed that enterprises play an important role in developing the value chains. However, they also pointed out shortcomings and weaknesses which need removing in the coming time.
