Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development asked its specialized agencies, units to cooperate with relevant agencies to enhance inspection of the compliance with food safety regulations and veterinary hygiene conditions; tighten the control of business activities and transportation of animals and their products into the city; monitor the slaughtering of animals before taking their products to the market; strictly handle violation cases.
It is necessary to instruct breeders, veterinary facilities to enhance inspection of pigs and take bio-safety measures in breeding; launch campaigns on sanitation, sterilization, detoxification in breeding areas.
Besides, more effort must be made to sterilize markets and slaughterhouses; tighten the supervision of the disease for early detection and drastic treatment of outbreaks; make plans to close markets and take measures to treat the ASF disease; coordinate with People’s Committees of districts, suburban districts and towns to enhance the management of slaughterhouses to prevent animal diseases in general and the ASF in particular; closely supervise at quarantine stations to control animals and their products entering Ha Noi.
Member departments, sectors, basing on functions, missions are tasked to jointly strengthen the popularization of disease prevention and control.
Similarly, Steering Committees 389 of districts, towns are assigned to review the number of facilities processing, slaughtering, and trading animals and their products in localities; request functional forces to check and strictly handle organizations, individuals violating regulations.
People’s Committees of wards, communes will cooperate with veterinary agencies to closely manage herds in the area; monitor the disease to timely detect outbreaks (if any) so as to control the epidemic.
