The delegation includes Bui Huyen Trang, Deputy Head of the NA deputy delegation of Ha Noi delegation; heads of agencies of the Municipal People’s Council; leaders of departments, sectors, districts and deputies of the Municipal People’s Council.
The delegation held a talk with the Wellington City Council led by Mr. Simon Woold – member of the Council. The two sides informed each other the socio-economic development, exchanged experiences in operating the council and a number of concerned issues, such as ensuring social welfare, vocational training, health insurance and social insurance, smart city building, transport, sustainable growth, education, etc.
Additionally, the two sides discussed contents and issuance of resolutions in the Council's meetings, collection of voters’ opinions, and consideration of impact factors before making decision of great policies in the socio - economic development in each locality.
The delegation also had a working session with Mrs. Rarolyn Dick, Senior Consultant on Strategy and Governance of Wellington City. The two sides exchanged criteria of building smart city, strategies for housing construction, social housing for the people, immigration, living environment, etc.
Visiting and working with the Victoria University, Mr. Brook Panned, Manager of Talent Education, Business Development and Innovation – The Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency informed contents relating to the cooperation in educating Vietnamese students, officials in the Victoria University. He hoped to strengthen the cooperation in education field in the coming time.
For her part, Chairwoman of the Ha Noi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc expressed her thanks for warm welcome and experiences from Wellington City.
She highly appreciated the positive development of the relations between Viet Nam and New Zealand, as well as Ha Noi and Wellington over the past years.
She considered the visit as a background for localities of the two countries to focus on intensifying the cooperation, and hoped that the two Capitals will have more meetings, exchanges and practical friendship activities in future.
The delegation works with the Government of Wellington City.
The delegation worked with the New Zealand Government Intergovernmental Agency on September 17th. The Agency introduced areas of investment cooperation, FDI projects, trade, tourism, education and training, intergovernmental database building, green technology and energy.
The delegation also visited and worked with officials, staffs of the Viet Nam Embassy in New Zealand. Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc informed the situation of the city’s socio-economic development as well as results of the delegation’s visits and fields which Ha Noi is interested in.
She suggested the Embassy enhance the cooperation between Ha Noi and localities of New Zealand in all fields in the spirit of friendly cooperation, equality, mutual benefit, practicality and effectiveness.
She thanked the Embassy for its enthusiastic support for the visit and wished the Embassy to act as a bridge to promote the friendly cooperation between Viet Nam and New Zealand, Ha Noi and localities of New Zealand.
