Currently, ethnic minority people are living in all of 30 districts, suburb districts and towns of Ha Noi. There are over 92,000 people from 53 ethnic minority groups, accounting for nearly 1.2% of Ha Noi’s population.
In order to realize National Target Program on building new-style rural areas an reducing poverty sustainably in association with ethnic minority areas, Ha Noi reviewed supportive policy on land for cultivation, land for residence, houses and water for poor ethnic minority households in disadvantaged circumstances.
The city urged authorities and localities where many ethnic minority people gather to review their policy according to actual demand and condition, and guarantee poor households have land for cultivation and residence.
Accordingly, there are 1,286 beneficiary households; total expense is estimated at VND 43.387 billion to realize policy on land for cultivation, land for residence and water. It will be proposed to the city.
Ha Noi invested in three water plants through integrated programs, such as New-style Rural Area Construction program, Program 135, and Plan No. 66/KH-UBND dated November 30, 2012 of the Municipal People’s Committee. Two plants are located in Khanh Thuong commune (Ba Vi district), and another one in Phu Man commune (Quoc Oai district). Total investment is VND 5.2 billion.
Currently, clean water is provided to 100% people in mountainous ethnic minority areas.
