Protecting legitimate rights and interests of laborers
Over the past term, Trade Unions at all levels have positively cooperated with authorized agencies to carry out policies, laws relating to legitimate rights and interests of member, workers and laborers.
Particularly, the Municipal Confederation of Labour and its organizations have organized many conferences on giving recommendations to the draft amending and supplementing the 1992 Constitution, Civil Procedure Code ad Laws on Social insurance, Health Insurance and Trade Union, etc.
Similarly, Trade Unions at all levels have focused on increasing the quality of signing collective labor agreements, contributing to specifying regulations and more favorable terms for laborers.
Besides, Trade Unions at all levels have enhanced cooperation with authorities to gradually improve the quality of labor conferences, building and implementing democracy regulations in localities.
To protect legitimate rights and interests of union members, laborers, Trade Unions also coordinated with functional agencies to monitor the compliance with Laws on Labor, Social Insurance, Trade Union and the work of labor safety and sanitation at 105 enterprises and collected nearly VND 450 billion from debts of health insurance and unemployment insurance.
Furthermore, Trade Unions jointly checked the implementation of mechanisms and policies relating to laborers at 5,617 enterprises; settled 33 labor disputes and protected rights for 25,345 labors.
Caring for workers’ material and spiritual life
Over the past tenure, Trade Unions have positively cooperated with Party Committees and authorities to arrange and improve the operational efficiency of state businesses. Especially, the Municipal Confederation of Labour asked Trade Unions of districts, towns, sectors and the Capital Aid Fund for Poor Employees to provide loans for 405 projects and 4,015 turns of households, created jobs for over 10,000 laborers.
Besides, special attention has been paid to charity activities. Particularly, the Municipal Confederation of Labour has built and repaired over 300 houses worth VND 8.630 billion.
On the occasion of traditional New Year festival 2018, Trade Unions at all levels gave allowances to 84,614 turns of workers, provided free tickets for 124,730 turns of needy labors returning their hometowns to welcome Tet, visited and presented gifts worth VND 100 billion, contributing to ensuring social welfare.
Promoting the gained achievements, in the next tenure, Trade Unions will focus on improving their role to protect legitimate rights and interests of members and workers; increasing the quality of labor conferences and dialogues in working areas as regulated; strengthening inspection, supervision and social feedback; timely dealing with burning issues and proposals; strictly handling violation cases, etc.
Especially, the Municipal Confederation of Labour sets up the key targets of cooperating with relevant sectors, agencies to check the implementation of Laws on Labor, Social Insurance, Trade Union and Labor Safety and Hygiene at 105 - 200 units, enterprises. Meanwhile, Trade Unions at all levels will jointly inspect from 650 to 700 units, enterprises in the localities and focus on caring for practical interests of members and workers.
